CASE STUDY

Automated Land Information & Accounting System (ALIAS)

Client
Michigan DOT, Bureau of Aeronautics

The MDOT Bureau of Aeronautics contracted GCR to implement an application for the management of the Bureau's land acquisition processes. This application is a sub-component of GCR's Airport System Manager (ASM), which is a state-of-the-art web-based application, developed utilizing Microsoft's .Net technology with an ASP.Net user interface.

This new application, which is a successor application to GCR's State AIMS (Airport Information Management System), is used to manage a system of airports, such as for a state aviation agency. One of the major modules of ASM is the Project Management Module, and it is this module that is being adapted to meet the needs of the Bureau for the management of land acquisition at the state's airports.

This module is used by the state to process payment requests from consultants and contractors, and to make payments to land owners whose property is being acquired. The system tracks all the financial components of the parcel being acquired and rolls that information into a comprehensive view of the project. This ASM module also includes integrated GIS mapping so that as parcels are identified, they can be graphically and visually represented
