CASE STUDY

Property Management, Billing, and Revenue Management System

Client
San Francisco International Airport

The San Francisco International Airport selected GCR to implement a Property Management, Billing, Revenue Management and GIS System to manage all leases, properties, aeronautical activities, and accounts receivable functions at the airport.

This project utilizes GCR's Airport Business Manager (ABM) as the foundation of the system, with various integration points to other systems currently in use at the airport. The system includes a series of sub-modules, which are integrated together to provide a comprehensive solution to manage all facets of the airport's activity and revenue.

The sub-modules are:
  • Agreement/Contact Management
The agreement management sub-module is used to manage all terms and provisions of agreements at the airport, whether revenue producing or non-revenue. This module also includes an integrated contact management module, which is used to managing companies and contacts throughout the enterprise.

  • Activity Statistics
All airport operating statistics, such as aircraft landings, passenger movements, cargo movements, fuel flowage, per use activities, and concessions sales are managed through this sub-module. All of these activities are tied to the airport's customer agreements, which allows for efficient analysis and reporting of all activities by customer.

  • Tenant Billing
This sub-module is used to create all revenue invoices for the airport. Using the rates and billing rules established in each of the provisions in the agreement management sub-module, this integrated module produces all necessary invoices based on billing parameters established by the airport.

  • Accounts Receivable
This sub-module is integrated with the Agreements, Activity Statistics, and Tenant Billing sub-module to provide an interface for the application of cash received from tenants. All other A/R functions, such as financial reporting, aged receivables, dunning, trial balance reports, etc. are provided in this sub-module.

  • Space Management
This sub-module provides a comprehensive tool for managing the properties and facilities at the airport. It includes a flexible, user defined inventory hierarchy combined with integrated GIS mapping capabilities.

The system is integrated with other systems, such as the airport's Automated Vehicle Identification (AVI) system and other ground transportation systems. All revenue transactions are then transferred from ABM into the airport's General Ledger through ABM's flexible G/L interface module.
